I decided to take a break from writing today. Currently, I’m working on Blood Rite, the sequel to Spark of Magic. I also have several other books in the hands of my EC editor waiting for aproval. A romantic suspense called It’s Only Physical.
Another romantic suspense/menage-a-trios, Their One and Only,
the third Entwined Fates installment, a futuristic Menage-a-trios, Promised to Them and the fourth installment, Remember Me.
Keep your fingers crossed…:)

So today I decided to ignore the muse and head to the outdoors and take a hike. It was so nice, the fall weather called. My kids even enjoyed themselves…:)
Our hike started here.

A 3/4 mile hike to Burgess Falls through rock outcroppings.

Over bridges.

And up stairs.

And more stairs…

And even more stairs…

All that to get to this…

And this…

Usually, the whole outcropping is covered in falling water, but it’s been so dry here, half the falls is missing. But if you think you’re done with the stairs….guess again. These will take you to the bottom.

Sort of reminds me of Jurasic Park 3. Remember the bird cages?
Another view of the falls as we descended.
All in all, it was a great hike. Now to get back to writing.

Since the 11th was kind of a sad day, I thought I would post something funny to lighten our spirits.

After every flight, Qantas pilots fill out a form, called a”gripe sheet”, which tells mechanics about problems with the aircraft. The mechanics correct the problem, document their repairs on the form, and then pilots review the gripe sheets before the next flight. Never let it be said that ground crews lack a sense of humor. Here are some actual maintenance complaints submitted by Qantas’ pilots (marked with a P) and the solutions recorded (marked with an S) by maintenance engineers.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
P: Left inside main tire almost needs replacement.
S: Almost replaced left inside main tire.

P: Test flight OK, except auto-land very rough.
S: Auto-land not installed on this aircraft.

P: Something loose in cockpi t.
S: Something tightened in cockpit.

P: Dead bugs on windshield.
S: Live bugs on back-order.

P: Autopilot in altitude-hold mode produces a 200 feet per minute descent.
S: Cannot reproduce problem on ground.

P: Evidence of leak on right main landing gear.
S: Evidence removed.

P: DME volume unbelievably loud.
S: DME volume set to more believable level.

P: Friction locks cause throttle levers to stick.
S: That’s what friction locks are for.

P: IFF inoperative in OFF mode.
S: IFF always inoperative in OFF mode.

P: Suspected crack in windshield.
S: Suspect you’re right.

P: Number 3 engine missing
S: Engine found on right wing after brief search.

P: Aircraft handles funny. (I love this one!)
S: Aircraft warned to: straighten up, fly right, and be serious.

P: Target radar hums.
S: Reprogrammed target radar with lyrics.

P: Mouse in cockpit.
S: Cat installed. And the best one for last ………………

P: Noise coming from under instrument panel. Sounds like a midget pounding on something with a hammer.
S: Took hammer away from midget

Write.Even if you have other things to do.
Even if it sucks.
Even though it’s hard.
Even though there are no guarantees.
Even if no one else cares.
Revise.
Even though it’s difficult to be objective.
Even if you think you got it right the first time.
Even though you hate it.
Even if you’re sure it’s a waste of time.
Submit.
Even if it’s to a small, non-paying publication.
Even if you feel you’re not ready.
Even if you hate rejection.
Even if you know you’ll never be accepted.
Repeat.
You’re a writer. Act like one.

Amen…:)
