Women’s Expo author signing and dinner 2008

This weekend was the Kingsport Times Women’s Expo that we do every year. We started out the weekend on Friday with a quick trip to Bays Mountain Park in Kingsport Tn just in time to see the feeding of the wolves.

They’re beautiful animals, but I certainly wouldn’t want to get between them and their dinner…:)

Then Friday Night was the meet the authors dinner. The lady in purple is author Jessie Verino.

And here is Lora Leigh with a couple of fans.

Authors Jullia Quinn, who to me looks just like Jennifer Garner and author Jennifer Estep.

Me and author Teresa Medeiros, who is just as sweet as she can be.

At the signing Saturday, there was a huge amount of people coming by to see the authors. Here’s Lora talking with a few readers.

Below is Teresa in front of her new book cover, Some Like it Wicked. Pretty cool title…:)

Jullia Quinn, Jennifer Estep, Lydia and Sharon, the two ladies who organize the event.

That’s Beth Williamson on the right. I think she’s like me and been there pretty much every year.

Lydia explaining things to a booth visitor. She’s such a firecracker…:)

We had a fabulous time, but then we always do…:) I can’t wait until next year. We already have author Jim Butcher lined up for 2009.

This is my favorite time of year. Fall colors, cooler weather and of course, Friday night football.

Tonight the Monterey Wildcats played against the Gordonsville Tigers. Talk about excitement, this game had it all. Penalty flags were flying–holding, face mask, unnecessary roughness, false start–the list goes on, which only added to the tension in the air.

Game was going well, we were ahead by 5. Fourth quarter, last 21 seconds in the game, not one person was sitting on either side–the tigers desperate to score, the wildcats desperate to hold them. Tigers are 4 and goal. Then it happens…they break through and score in the last few seconds of the fourth quarter.

It was disappointing, but that’s okay. We may have lost by one point, but Monterey played one hell of a game. Congrats Wildcats on one of the best games you’ve played all year!!
