Captain Sidious Marcone is a high ranking officer for Prime Minister Rigora. Of late, Sidious dreads reporting to the main ship Sclictah and dealing with the Prime Minister. In fact, for the past ten years he has been living in a nightmare. Mikayla Adkins is not having the best day. First she oversleeps, thanks to working a second job to earn extra money and keep her mind off her ex-boyfriend Gregg; next she arrives to work only to find out that an alien spaceship is hovering above Earth and no one knows why; and last she is kidnapped and taken to this same spaceship. When Mikayla plows into Sidious the attraction is instant but neither plan to act on it. Mikayla doesn’t want anything to do with the enemy and Sidious has too much stress in his life. Fortunately for both of them, lust begins to overtake logic.

As part of the Entwined Fates series and the prequel to Destined for Two, Captive is an awesome book and I can’t wait to read it again. The characters Sidious and Mikayla are so full of energy that I fell in love with them immediately. There are plenty of secondary characters all needed to make this story a success. I also believe that some of them have their own story to tell. Ms. Michaels created a very real environment with an alien race so much like Earthlings, including intrigue and a way to link very hot and spicy sex to help make everything work. The sexual chemistry was shown immediately and I was not disappointed when Sidious and Mikayla consummate their lust. Granted Mikayla puts up a fight but when Sidious turns up the seduction, the heat level really begin to burn. There is some anal play that may offend readers, but it was so beautifully written that you hardly notice. This is definitely a book to put on your summer reading list.

Later that night, we went to see the movie, Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. I liked this one much better than the last three. It had something the others were lacking…humor…:) Not a bad way to spend a Friday night, but boy the theater was crowded. That’s what I get for going on a Friday night, I guess.

I became a grandma this weekend. I swear, I’ve never seen anything more precious as that tiny baby boy, except for my own kids of course…:) But there’s just something special about grandchildren. I never understood it until I saw him. It’s a whole other feeling all together.
