Ah…movies

Capt. Kirk (Chris Pine) and his trusted team on the starship USS Enterprise boldly go where no man has gone before in this installment of Gene Roddenberry’s sci-fi franchise that follows the early days of the intergalactic adventurers. The crew includes Spock (Zachary Quinto), Chekov (Anton Yelchin), Uhura (Zoe Saldana), Scotty (Simon Pegg) and Sulu (John Cho). Eric Bana co-stars, and Leonard Nimoy appears as an older version of Spock.

I didn’t get a chance to see this movie in the theaters, but I finally got to watch it the other night with my son. All I can say is, wow. I certainly hope they continue with this younger version of the Star Trek crew. Anyone who is familiar with the original series will love how the younger actors remained true to the characters. The only thing that threw just a bit was the romance between Spock and Uhura, but it didn’t throw me so much that I didn’t enjoy the show.

All around great effects, great characters and well…just a great movie.
