Hubby and daughter are headed out to do some 4 wheeling and squirrel hunting. Son and I are going to the bookstore, the disney store and the grocery store. Seems kind of backward, doesn’t it? lol
When I get home this afternoon, I’m starting on the home stretch of Darkness Falls. I finally have the ending worked out in my mind!! Yes!! lol.

Nick and Brian have been best friends for most of their lives and as cops, they have worked together until a murderer set out to turn their world upside down. Kathryn (Katie) knows all too well what was lost when the police were unable to find the person responsible for her best friend, Lisa’s murder. Katie not only lost one friend, but she lost another when Nick moved away. Now he’s back in town, but so is the killer and if they don’t find him fast, there could be several more victims. While the trio is trying to rebuild their friendship, work through the old hurts, and maybe start some new romances, they won’t be able to forget they have a job to do. To catch a killer, Katie will reveal a secret of her own, and it could make all the difference between life and death.
Chilling! It’s not very often that I run across a story that has so much going for it, but Dead Reckoning was it! I can’t say it enough; this story was brilliantly written, well thought out, and a pleasure to read. The characters were perfect. Katie is the girl next door. She’s smart, sassy and everyone’s friend. Brian’s character is a bit more cautious, but when combined with the carefree Nick, they compliment each other to perfection. The bantering between them was fun, at times sexy, and always entertaining. Sexually, these three lit the sheets on fire, but I appreciated the fact that they didn’t jump into anything. Instead, the sexual scenes seemed more natural and helped to keep the characters, and storyline believable. The actual sex scenes didn’t have such a huge role in the story only because the story is so captivating in and of itself. I was impressed, and have to say, Dead Reckoning is an absolute must read for anyone who likes sexy men in uniform, smart women, and more surprises than you can shake a stick at.

I have the hardest time writing over the summer. The kids are home, the house is total chaos, lots of stuff going on, people in and out, over for the weekend…sigh. Needless to say I’m running behind.
A few weeks ago I got stuck on Darkness Falls. Something about it just didn’t feel right. I sent what I had to my editor and she offered some suggestions. She gave some good ones too. Since that time, I’ve been working on a few rewrites and additions. One of her ideas sparked another which has turned into my ‘gotcha’ ending. I just love editors, don’t you…:)
School starts back next week and the house will quiet back down. I’ll have my mornings back…lol. Once that happens, the rest will flow like gangbusters. Yay…lol

There is none…lol.
Well, that’s not exactly true. I’m working on a few re-writes and I think I like the story much better now. Once I get those done, which I’m actually almost finished, it’s onto the home stretch. Yay!! lol.
Home stretch is good…:)

Rating: Five Siren Stones
Trista Ann Micheals has written a great story of a woman in love with two men, who all have history together.
She does a great job with dealing with the everyday issues that a ménage couple has to deal with, but throws into the mix a great suspense story with constant twists and turns.
Kathryn is in love with Nick and Brian and she wants all or nothing. They have to decide if that is something they can handle between trying to keep Kathryn safe and catch a serial killer. With a new emotion and new danger at every turn, this story is both romantic and full of danger and suspense.
I would say that Trista Ann Micheals has done it again and it is a must read.

Dead Reckoning is a Top Pic!!!
Kathryn has always envied what her best friend Lisa had. Nick and Brian. After Lisa’s death at the hands of a serial killer, Kathryn was there for both men, but the tragedy tore them apart. Maintaining a friendship with both, years have passed and now the killer is back again. Or did he ever leave?
Moving on with her life, Kathryn owns a business she loves and shares with her friend and roommate Janie. When the serial killer from the past becomes active again, Nick and Brian are on the case and being very protective of her. She has developed feelings for both men through the years as they have for her. But sharing was too difficult with Lisa, and neither want to share Kathryn. But she knows what she wants and she won’t choose between them. It’s all or nothing.
I swear this author could write an enthralling grocery list. Never having loved two men (how unfortunate) I can’t begin to understand what kind of tension that would place on someone. I respected Kathryn’s decision not to choose, but felt sorry for Nick and Brian since they really didn’t want to go there again. Although they both loved Lisa, they hid that relationship from the world and had trust between them; something that was lost after she was murdered. Now they have to rebuild the trust to have a similar relationship with Kathryn. While the mechanics of a menage are still all they remember they are both having troubles with jealousy and envy. That is the problem.
Very steamy and at times funny, this was a mystery that I didn’t figure out right away. The author laid a few false clues that made it more interesting. The paranormal aspect of the story enhanced rather than drove the story line, and gave things just an edge of creepiness.

Thanks, Chris!!

Dead Reckoning is a fast-paced thriller with plenty of HOT scenes and a little of the paranormal to keep it exciting and suspenseful.
A serial murderer is on the loose. Sheriff Brian Scott thought the murderer was gone and the case dead. But a body of a tortured woman is found years later with the same MO. And this case is personal because one of the victims was his old girlfriend, Lisa. Brian and his close friend Nick both loved Lisa. But after her vicious death Nick couldn’t stand the memories and left Brian and Lisa’s best friend Kathryn to comfort each other.
Brian has grown to love Kathryn. He longs to have a real relationship with her but is afraid getting close could ruin their friendship. He is about to tell Kathryn his feelings but is surprised and angry to find Nick (Now a hot shot FBI agent) has come back and wants in on the case. Brian also discovers Nick has been keeping touch with Kathryn and wants her, too.
Kathryn loves Brian and Nick she was always a bit jealous of Lisa’s ménage relationship with them and she wants the same. When she finds them fighting over her she gives them an ultimatum. All of them together or nothing at all. Brian is very reluctant to have another ménage with Nick as the 3rd partner because he doesn’t trust him anymore and was hurt by Nick’s desertion. To make matters worse they are afraid Kathryn may be the next victim. And Kathryn complicates matters when she reveals her ability to see the ghosts of the dead. The dead who want her to help solve the murders.
Trista Ann Michaels never fails to please. The author’s intense books are extra steamy and never fails to keep my interest. I am always surprised at how much detail and emotion she can fit into such a short story. The characters are very believable and I could feel the love and intense attraction they had for each other. I particularly liked how Nick and Brian mended their differences with the help of Kathryn. And the ménage scenes were super sexy. Plus I loved then thrilling and climatic ending.
Dead Reckoning is a satisfying thrill ride with a perfect blend of romance, mystery and smokin’ hot sex!

Walker has worked hard at his job as head of security for Senator Prescott and his daughter, Heather. He’s watched her grow up from the tender age of twelve; he felt very close to her through their good-natured bantering over how she wouldn’t be a problem for him. Now that Heather has grown into a lovely woman, Walker can no longer deny his growing feelings for her and decides he needs to separate himself from her. Although he changes his focus more onto her father, he’s always thinking of her and checking up on how the new team guarding her is coping with her antics of escaping them.
Years later, Heather is the target of several men who want to stop her father from making their crimes public and she has been injured because of it. Once again, Walker is in charge of protecting her and she is determined to show him how much she loves him. Even with him trying to keep his distance, nothing will stop the attraction they have for each other and having to be on the run only puts them together more.
Divine Intervention, truly a great story of murder and suspense, had me thinking hard about how greed can make men contemplate harming others for their own gain. The main characters were able to get away from the villains and while running, they spoke of their love for each other during the stressful times. Heather and Walker really heat up the story with their steaming hot love sessions, when they were able to temporary forget their troubles.
The creativity of Ms. Michaels has wowed me, leaving me wanting to read more of her books to experience more of her writings. I really enjoyed how she included the financial crisis going on today; it made this story more believable for me. There is not a lot of past history given, surrounding most of the characters, for a better understanding of why Heather’s father felt the need to take on the villains that were almost untouchable. This is a very enjoyable read and I will be looking for more from this author.
Thanks, Goddess…:)

If you like suspense and romance, intrigue and hot sex, then you’ll love this story.
Heather Prescott had fallen in love with her former bodyguard when she was a teenager, but the stubborn man just wouldn’t stop seeing her as a child, as his boss’s daughter. She wasn’t sure she’d ever get the chance to change the stubborn man’s mind and make him see her as an adult.
As her bodyguard years ago, Walker Moore had fought his attraction to his young client, and continued fighting them now that she’d grown up. She was still wrong for him, still too young for him, and now his partner’s daughter. But circumstances bring them together again and he struggles harder than ever to fight his feelings for her. Can he keep her safe from someone out to kill her father and her as well? Can he keep his hands off her as he is forced to guard her once more? Or will he finally give in to the love he’s always felt for her?
The story contained a cast of well developed characters with good depth of emotions, strong internal and external conflicts, and more than enough hot sex to warm your heart and your night.
