Deadly Crimson review

February 2nd, 2010

Great review from Lila at Two Lips reviews for Deadly Crimson.

Trista Ann Michaels’ Deadly Crimson is a fast paced, thrilling paranormal ménage.  Jason and Vincent are both wizards, but there is so much more in the world that they live in.  The reader is introduced to vampires and warlocks too.  In fact Ms. Michaels does one of the best jobs I have ever read setting up for her next book in the series.  I had to email her and beg her for a release date.  Deadly Crimson has two of the most stunning men in it, and the two balance each other perfectly.  Where Vincent is the more stubborn one night stand kind of guy, Jason counterbalances this in his caring protective attitude about Stacy.    Stacy, the heroine is strong minded and won’t give up on finding the person or thing responsible for killing her best friend.  I have to respect that in a woman.  She is also adored by these two gorgeous men.  That can’t be bad in my book.  Trista Ann Michaels has hooked me for life with this story.  There are also other stories that come before Deadly Crimson, but in no way need to be read first to understand what’s going on.  They all can stand alone very, very well.

Thank you Lila…:)

Title: Deadly Crimson
Author: Trista Ann Michaels

Genre: BDSM, Paranormal, Ménage {m/f/m}

Stacy is investigating her friend’s death even though she has been ordered off the case by her captain. She was one of six women who died after taking a new “drug” that is hitting the club scene, four of whom had been seen at the Coven.

Jason and Vincent are trying to find out who is using their club as a distribution point and do not want to have the police investigating, especially when they find out that the “drug’ is actually a mix of three different vampire’s blood mixed with silver.

Deadly Crimson is an intense suspense story, with half the book intense sex between Stacy, Jason and Vincent. Throw in two sexy wizards, Vampires and a club scene and you get the wonderful world that Ms. Michaels has created in this book. I kept having to go for ice after reading the different sex scenes but she does a wonderful job of keeping you on your toes during the investigation. You don’t get a clue who the bad guy is until close to the end of the book.

Deadly Crimson review

February 2nd, 2010

Tessa Williams is one brilliant rocket scientist, who just can’t seem to find a decent man to date. Well she has had two men in her past that turned her head but the timing wasn’t right with either of them. So she does what any self respecting scientist would and dives into her work whole hearted. Now suddenly the government project she has worked on is coming to a close, but before they can finish, things start to go drastically wrong. The coworker, the only other person with the launch codes, suddenly goes missing, and foul play is assumed. Now Tessa finds herself under protection of N.C.I.S. and on the run for her life.

What are the chances that her protectors are the same two men who still have pieces of her heart? More importantly these two men who have shared everything seem to not have told each other about Tessa. What will happen when they are now suddenly on the run, and in close quarters? Will these three be able to survive the red hot reactions to each other, and keep Tessa and National Security safe?

Spicy intelligent men, a sexy intelligent woman and a `who done it’ all in one story, what more could you ask for? Nick and Jake are a pair to recon with and I love that Ms. Michaels has written just the woman (Tessa) that can take them both on. There are a number of twists and turns in Leave Me Breathless, and I don’t mean just in bed either. I have long enjoyed Ms. Michael’s writings and find the military/civilian tie in with Leave Me Breathless to be a great setting for this suspenseful romance.

Deadly Crimson review

You can count on author Trista Ann Michaels to craft a sensual, emotional, and poignant love story with tinges of suspense and chills. This author is a master at creating vividly detailed pictures that allows readers to escape between the pages of her books time and time again. From the very first page of this book, Ms. Michaels draws the reader in and then blasts them directly into this riveting tale making it impossible to put down. Shutter is filled with unforgettable characters, simmering passion, and gripping tension, mixed together the result is one powerful and delightful story. Every character was richly portrayed – even the secondary ones seemed to have full personalities that seemed to enhance the story. Readers will marvel at Bethany’s backbone as she struggles for not only her future, but also for the past that has the ability to hurt not only her but the ones that she loves. Derrick and Nathan are two friends different in many ways but united in their ability to be strong and protect the one woman who is the center of their universe. The connection between Bethany, Derrick, and Nathan was not only deeply evident but the jealousy struggles were a realistic touch to the relationship. The chemistry between the characters sizzled and the scenes of intimacy whether they were M/F or M/F/M where pulsing with a sensuality and heat that was spellbinding. There is just the right amount of danger and suspense that adds a compelling edge to the romantic plot without making it too dark.

Once again Trista Ann Michaels delivers another winner!

Overall rating: 5 hearts

Deadly Crimson review

February 2nd, 2010

I’ve always loved Trista Ann Michaels and her particular brand of ménage story. Shutter is another sexy, suspenseful success she can add to her already extensive list. The tension between Nathan, Derrick and Beth is tangible. Coupled with the anxiety caused by a sadistic stalker and I eagerly flipped pages well into the night.

In Shutter, this threesome spends much more time apart than in Ms. Michaels’ other tales, but somehow it still seemed to work. Rather than being annoyed by it, I was pleased to see the growth that progressed though the tale with these three characters. I did feel like the ending was a little rushed, but with this kind of happily ever after, it’s hard to find much fault.

TAM_Shutter_coversmA fabulous review from  Nancy at Paranormal Romance Reviews!

“This book is Hot, Hot, Hot!”

Bethany had a hard childhood. Her step-father Tom had beaten and raped her for over ten years. When she was “discovered” by Jacob Matthews dancing in a strip club she was reluctant to take his offer of a place to live, no sex attached. Years later, she was his friend, like a daughter to him but lonely and still hurting.

She hadn’t had sex since her stepfather years ago and that, of course, wasn’t sex – it was punishment. She wanted to, needed to. but her nerves got in the way. However…Jacob had a police officer son, Derrick who was a hunk and a half. Derrick had a friend named Nathan, head of Jacob’s security for his businesses and his home. They had a reputation of dating women together and this attracted Beth like a moth to a flame. She wanted both.

The boys had always shared everything. Rooms, cars, girls, whatever. When it came to Bethany it was different. They were both in love with her, it didn’t stop at just lust. Could they make it work?

Then, Tom is paroled on “good behavior” and comes straight after Bethany. She is his! He won’t share her with anyone else. Who wins? Nathan, Derrick, Tom, Jacob or Bethany?

An interesting premise for a scorchingly hot book. My goodness! I needed a fan!! Good characters, good plot and extrememly sexy. A one night read for sure.

TAM_EF_Captive_coverlgI got 4 stars from RT Magazine for Captive. Woohoo!!!

“This sizzling space opera will take you out of this world. It’s a fast-paced story with just the right amount of danger. There’s a great connection between the brash heroine and the delicious hero, and the sex is hot and graphic, including anal play and dubious consent. ” –

Deadly Crimson review

February 2nd, 2010

Have you ever gone to the gym, then left, wondering if you were even capable of driving the car? That your legs would even have the strength to press the gas pedal? Or that your arms would have the ability to turn the wheel?

Well, let me tell ya…that’s not a fun feeling. Although my son certainly had a wonderful time making fun of me.

First, I hurt my knee jogging on the treadmill. It’s my own damn fault. I have a weak right knee and know better, but did I do it anyway? Yep. I did.

So then, I moved onto the weights, were I proceeded to try and rip my legs apart on the hip abductor. I became a human wishbone…anyone want to make a wish? My son, who coaches me and basically rides my butt to give him just one more, mimicing a trainer perfectly, laughed for ten minutes because the sound of my yelp as my inner tigh muscles were stretched to their limit was apparently the most amusing thing he’d seen all day. He was at least smart enough to remain just out of arms’ reach.

So, now I sit on the couch, legs propped up, too tired to even get in the shower. Now that’s sad.

On a little bit brighter note. my new anthology, To Serve and Protect is out and available at your local bookstore, so be sure and stop by to pick up a copy.  It’s a hot read…:)
