Complications

Man oh man, where to begin.
I had surgery yesterday to repair a blocked tearduct, a side affect from a previous sinus surgery.
First off, my blood pressure spiked really bad during surgery and they kept giving me medication to try and bring it down. Finally, after about 4 shots of something  during recovery, they got the bottom number down to 86, which is much better than the 130 it had been. I was so out of it, I can’t remember the name of the drug.

Prior to the surgery, the dr. told me no bending over and no straining. Do you know what happens when you throw up during recovery? You bend over and you strain…sigh.
I strained so much, it pushed the stints in my tearducts paritally out. He couldn’t get it back in that day because a blood clot was blocking where it needed to go, so we’re waiting on the blood clot to move so he can push it the rest of the way through. So in the menatime, I have this tiny plastic tube taped to the side of my nose, to keep it from rubbing against my eye and irritating it until he can get it back in. The stints have to remain in for a month, so hopefully he’ll be able to get them back into place.

The stitches that run from the corner of my eye to the top of my cheek don’t hurt, but behind my eye does. I’m assuming from where he rerouted the tearducts. Surgery sucks…sigh. Especially when things don’t go exactly right.
