It’s 2034, and humans can control and kill each other in a large-scale online gaming world. But Kable (Gerard Butler), a wrongfully convicted soldier forced to join the violent competition, tries to free himself by taking out its evil architect, Ken (Michael C. Hall). While being controlled by a rich kid (Logan Lerman), Kable must also save his wife, Angie (Amber Valletta), who’s trapped in her own avatar world.
I was very excited to see this movie. I didn’t get a chance to see it at theaters and now, i’m kinda glad I waited until I could get it through Netflix. I was a little disappointed.
While Michael C. Hall played a great Ken Castle, (similar to a demented Dexter, his little dance scene toward the end made me laugh) and Gerard played a great Kable, the whole choppy feal to the movie left me feeling a little lost. And what’s with the gore? I think the same movie could be made without all the excessive blood and guts and still be amazing and those split second erotic images gave me a headache more than anything else.
I won’t ruin it for anyone, but overall, it was okay and the ending was great I just didn’t like the way it was put together. Too choppy, too weird.
Although…I did get an idea for a erotica story. Virtual sex…lol.
